We can carry out repairs to all types of damage to the bumper. This could be a typical scuff or scratch repair, or a slightly more complex repair such as a dent or split. A bumper scuff can look very unsightly and can significantly affect the resale value of the car when it is time to sell. Fortunately, it is not always necessary to repaint a full bumper. In most cases, a SMART repair can be carried out, saving you money and the hassle of taking your car to a bodyshop.

MotorCure specialises in high quality bumper repairs whether it is a scratch, scuff, dent or split. We can even repair textured trims, replicating the original texture!

How long does a bumper repair take?

Good question! A bumper repair time can vary depending on the type of damage and colour of the car. A typical bumper scuff or scratch can be repaired within a couple of hours whereas a slightly more complex repair, such as a dent or split, can typically take a few hours, depending on the size and severity. Each product we use on your car has been rigorously tested to ensure durability and superior quality. This means only using premium, reputable brands within the car body repair industry.

Scratches & Scuffs

A minor scuff or scratch can be frustrating! A bumper scratch or scuff repair tend to be the most straightforward to fix. Due to the different body lines and shape of a bumper, the repair area can, in most cases, be kept small. This greatly reduces repair time and also eliminates the need to respray the full bumper.

Textured Trims

When carrying out a texture repair, the damage is mended with plastic filler to repair any gouges, dents or splits. A primer is then used to seal any repair work and then a textured coating is applied. Finally, a matching colour is applied to complete the repair.

Dents

Bumper dents can typically be repaired in 3 - 5 hours. Most of the time a vast amount of the dent can be pushed out using heat and then pushing from behind the bumper. All that is then required is a light skim of filler to smooth off any distortion and then painted to a seamless finish.

Splits

Most of the time, splits in a plastic bumper or trim can be repaired using techniques such as Hot Stapling and Plastic Welding to ensure a strong and lasting repair. Special plastic repair adhesives and fillers can also be used, giving a wide range of repair options and minimising the need to replace!
